Tinjauan Manajemen Produksi Telur Organik pada Sekuntum Herbals Farm (Lampung Timur) Berbasis Sistem Pertanian Organik

Riska Melinda, Eko Kuswanto

Abstract

A study on green agricultural production management based on organic farming systems in Lampung Province was carried out in March – May 2021. The subject of this research is Sekuntum Herbal Farm (East Lampung Regency) which is engaged in the cultivation of herbal laying hens. Production management standards based on SNI 6729:2016 concerning Organic Farming Systems state that there are 7 (seven) indicators that must be applied to organic livestock products. The results of the study show that Sekuntum Herbal Farm has implemented seven production management indicators, namely: (1) source and origin of livestock; (2) conversion period; (3) nutrition; (4) health care; (5) raising, transporting and slaughtering livestock, (6) cattle pens; and (7) sewage management. Even though all production management indicators have been implemented according to SNI 6729:2016, the resulting products have not been certified as organic products. This is because the process of obtaining an organic label requires relatively large costs and a short label validity period, so Sekuntum Herbal Farm focuses more on the implementation of organic egg product management than organic labeling efforts.
